Promotional items can help generate more money to ride.

Want more money to ride? It's simple, says Oakbrook Awards & Promotions owner, Melissa Cam, an equestrian herself. "Promote your business by buying promotional items from us to create greater profits – then spend them on your horse!"

Oakbrook specializes in high-end awards, trophies, plaques and custom-made crystal pieces, but there is virtually no limit to what can be ordered and personalized through the company. "I especially like working with businesses that are directly related to horses and business people who own horses," she explains. "We have everything from promo pens to high-end executive gifts. We offer attention to detail you won't find elsewhere. We want our clients to have the award they've been dreaming of, not just what might be on the shelf."

If the 600,000 products available through Oakbrook's 1,600 suppliers aren't what a client has in mind, there's the option of snapping a photo of the item and having Oakbrook's system search for it. "We can load a photo onto our search feature and it will search by visual recognition," says Melissa, longtime proprietor of the Westlake Village-based company.

Promotional items can be a big boon to a business. "To get a profitable return on investment you need to use the right item at the right time," Melissa explains. "It might be a pen for less than $1 for one event and a special executive thank you gift for another occasion." Melissa's many years of experience make her a big help in finding that right product. Whether customers come to her with a firm idea of what they want or no clue about the products or process, she has all the right questions to elicit the information needed to fulfill their needs and dreams with professionalism and, if desired, pizzazz.

"One-stop shopping makes your job simple and we make you look good in front of your boss or client," she adds. "We'll get you the right award or promo item with the least bit of stress possible."

Oakbrook's offerings serve many purposes. They can be thank-yous, employee awards and/or incentives, and help a business stay top of mind with existing and potential customers. Because most of the customizing work is done at the company's showroom in Thousand Oaks, projects are typically turned around very quickly. This also enables Oakbrook to accept single orders on engraved and other projects.

Other popular items include bronze plaques, nametags, brass plates, office signs and trophies, engraved marble, lanyards, office signage, custom sculptures, award ribbons, halter plates and stall signs. Logo'd polo and t-shirts are among many wearable products. "On average, your branded shirt will be kept for five years," she notes.
Melissa is a lifelong equestrian, in training with Michelle Pacyna at Fieldstone Riding Club in Moorpark. She enjoys working with fellow horse people, whether it's for equestrian events or for companies serving any field.

Specialty items from Oakbrook run a very wide gamut. A custom crystal for major client, the Cheesecake Factory restaurant chain, was one of the summer's biggest projects, and fun new items are regularly added to the inventory. Today's craze for digital devices has opened the floodgates for promotional products customized with company logos and slogans. Speakers and stylus pens for smart devices are among recent innovations, while just about anything related to wine is a constant favorite.

Wine and golf related gifts and goodies are special areas of expertise. Oakbrook's line of "wine toys" includes bottle openers, wine racks and engraved wine bottles. An insulated acrylic cup that has a wine glass inside is an especially popular item, she reports. "It's like an adult sippy cup" and it typifies the lighter side of Oakbrook's product line.
