UC Davis Extension offers show management courses.

More than 2,700 nationally recognized equestrian competitions are produced each year in the United States. To help advance equestrian sport in the U.S., UC Davis Extension and the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) have teamed up to offer online educational programs that open up new avenues for participation in this exciting field.

This summer/fall UC Davis Extension will offer the following online courses:

Equine Event Management Online Information Session
This free information session will introduce you to our new Professional Concentration in Equine Event Management as well as highlight our Horse Show Secretary and Horse Show Management courses.

Enrollment for section 141EEM100 continues through Sept. 17 or enroll in section 142EEM100 between Sept. 8 and Jan. 4.

Equine Event Management: Competition Management
In this online course, learn about safety and risk management, venue and facilities management, marketing and public relations, conflict resolution and working within the regulatory requirements of the governing bodies of equestrian sport.
The course begins on Sept. 8 and ends Nov. 28. Enroll by September 19.

Equine Event Management: Horse Show Secretary
This online course examines the cycle of the horse show secretary's role--from creating show bills and prize lists to entries and reporting. Learn to work with governing bodies, interpret various sets of rules and manage people within the USEF guidelines.
The course begins on Sept 8 and ends Nov. 28. Enroll by September 19.
