A Perfect Purse

Field & Field approached a Denver, CO saddle manufacturer to see if something could be made of the scrap leather they tossed after cutting out saddle forms. The leather was simply taking up warehouse space - ultimately just waiting to be thrown away. Field & Field knew something could be made from this "scrap" leather that was anything but.

"We believe in being socially and environmentally responsible," says Field & Field owner Lindsay Field. "We craft high-quality, handmade leather goods. All of our products are proudly made in the United States. We repurpose leather and use odd lots of leather sides to create fashionable, equestrian-inspired products."

The Gift of Travel: Inn-to-Inn Ride in English Estate Country

Travelers will easily imagine the goings on of the men and women of Downton Abbey, or Mr. Darcy of Pemberley, as they ride their mannerly hunters through the wooded pastures of private lands in the heart of England's Cotswolds, surrounding counties, hunt countryside and villages. This elegant, historic and unique stately ride covers 65 to 80 miles over five days, with four to six hours daily journeys across the land of George Elliot, William Shakespeare and Anne Boleyn, taking lunch respites at a town pub, by a cottage garden lake or in a manor house. Evenings begin at one of the imposing estate manors, accessible by invitation only, down the road from famed market towns, such as historic Chipping Campden. Dinner may be by candlelight, prepared by a private chef or the lady of the manor.

This trip runs Sundays through Fridays, from April through September and the package includes five nights' accommodations in five-star private manor homes, horse, tack, guide, all meals, transfer to and from the train station. Intermediate to advanced level riding experience is needed.

Scotland, Australia, India, Argentina and Uraguay are others among many wonderful locations for riding-oriented trips organized by High Pointe International Equestrian Tours.
