Contact Susan Peirce, Red Bucket Equine Rescue

I am happy to report that last month our featured rescue horse, Cinderella from Falcon Ridge, was adopted. Thank you everyone who is helping out all of our rescues. Our bad economic times have created the need for rescues all across the state and this month we share the story about Red Bucket Equine Rescue on page 10. Along similar lines, I've also recently gotten involved with the San Diego Horse Coalition, a nonprofit that is helping horses in San Diego County. Thank you to everyone that has given me a dollar or more – even a quarter from a young rider at one of the horse shows I was attending. If SDHC collects $25,000 before the end of September, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will donate $50,000. Read more on page 61.

We hope you enjoy this issue featuring dressage and more. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this issue. I was lucky enough to ride in a recent dressage clinic with Johannes Beck-Broichsitter on Ronnette Leja's horse Max. It was an excellent clinic and it gave me some good exercises to help me in my new position of teaching and riding. Johannes comes twice a year and will be back in November.

In our September issue, we will feature artists and photographers. October is western, fashion and gift buyers guide. Be sure to send us your story ideas. And for breaking news, like us on Facebook and sign up for our weekly eNewsletter.

Happy Riding!
