Stepping Up
Classic Equine Equipment helps raise awareness and funds for charitable equine organizations.

Classic Equine Equipment celebrates and supports equine aid groups throughout the U.S. with the new Hoof Hearted Awareness program in its Little Bits newsletter. Each month, the e-mail newsletter will spotlight a different horse-assistance group. Subscribers who donate to that group will see their contribution matched by Classic Equine. The Fredericktown, MO-based barn company plans to donate at least $100 and up to $1,000 to spotlighted charities each month.

The first step to participating is signing up for the newsletter by visiting www.classic-equine.com. Subscribers then submit proof of their donation within 30 days of the charity's appearance in the newsletter. The proof should be sent to charity@classic-equine.com and from the same e-mail address used to subscribe to the newsletter. Classic Equine will match eligible donations, $10 or more, up to 25 percent.

"As with most small charities, the abundance of monies raised goes directly back into taking care of the horses with virtually nothing left for marketing," says Christy Schulthess, Classic Equine's Director of Sales and Marketing. "It is our hope at Classic Equine to give these organizations some much needed exposure to help increase their donor base."

Donations must be paid, as opposed to pledged, and donors cannot use Classic Equine's contribution to fulfill a pledge they made themselves. Thirty days after each newsletter's publication, Classic Equine will calculate the company's contribution to the spotlighted charity.

Charitable organizations that would like to be featured in Little Bits are encouraged to contact Classic Equine.
