Marshall & Sterling Insurance acquires private client group from White & Company Insurance, Inc.

Marshall & Sterling Insurance, headquartered in Poughkeepsie, NY, announces the acquisition of White & Company Insurance's Private Client Group, led by insurance veteran Joseph Norick. Norick, who is based in California, will now serve as Practice Group Leader for Sterling Client Services, a division within Marshall & Sterling that serves the distinctive insurance needs of equine and high net-worth clientele. Currently, Marshall & Sterling is one of the largest equine insurance agencies in the nation.

"Purchasing this book of insurance business represents a perfect strategic acquisition for our company," stated Timothy Dean, President of Marshall & Sterling Insurance. "Joe's diverse experiences insuring the unique needs of equine clients, ranches and horse farms, coupled with his wealth of knowledge in serving high networth and VIP clientele, make him an ideal fit for our agency."

Norick will be based in Westlake Village and will take a leadership role with an established team of insurance professionals focused on growing Sterling Client Services' comprehensive offering of personal insurance coverages on the West Coast and throughout the nation. During his tenure as President of White & Company's Private Client Group, Norick excelled at providing unparalleled personal insurance services for his clients. Prior to founding White Insurance's VIP client service division, Norick managed a number of very successful equine-related business ventures, where he served as an international horse dealer and trainer. He is a life member of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) and United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA).

Norick, his wife Sydney, and three girls are also active throughout the community, and serve a number of charitable causes. Their daughter Madison is an ambassador for Just World International, an organization promoting positive change in the developing world by providing basic education, nutrition, health, hygiene, and vocational programs for children in impoverished communities. Norick and his family also support Ride On, a therapeutic riding program located in California, and they are ardent supporters of The Triumph Project, an East Coast organization that promotes public awareness and provides rescue services for horses being senselessly abused and slaughtered throughout the world.

Marshall & Sterling Insurance, Inc., founded in 1864, is ranked 23rd among more than 37,500 privately-held insurance agencies in the United States*, with total annual written premiums in excess of $400 million. An employee-owned company with more than 340 insurance specialists in 18 branch offices in New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Marshall & Sterling has been recognized for exceptional insurance services and best practices throughout the nation.
