Letter to the Editor
Tragedy strikes Varian Arabians.

Dear Friends,

As many of you have heard and know, two of our Aristocrat mares Sweet Sanadika V (*Sanadik El Shaklan x Sweet Inspiration V ) and Mosquerade V (Huckleberry Bey x Moska) were shot by an unknown person(s) on the night of Dec. 30th. Sweet Sanadika V had to be euthanized when she was found the following morning and Mosquerade V was transported to a local veterinary clinic where she is healing.

There are no words to express the shock and dismay of such a tragedy felt by all of us here at the Varian Arabians. These were two lovely, sweet mares that were foaled and lived their lives here, each having babies that have gone on to win National Championships.

Many of you have inquired about donating to a reward fund to assist in apprehending whoever is responsible for this tragedy. The Arabian Mare Reward Fund has been established and all donations should go to:
