Hannah Von Heidegger Wins Onondarka Medal Finals

Hannah von Heidegger had a particularly full plate of things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. She capped a great season by winning the Onondarka Medal Finals, which finished Nov. 26 at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.

Samantha Harrison Wins WCE

In a final round that had the crowd on the edges of their seats, Samantha Harrison and Theo Boris faced off in the WCE Medal Final, reports Marnye Langer of Langer Equestrian Group. The finals concluded Nov. 16 at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. “They went into the third and final round in a dead tie and the championship came down to who could deliver the best,” Langer continues. “Samantha was first to go and she threw the gauntlet down with a positive, bold ride that was equally stylish. Boris’s boldness caught up with him when his horse pulled a rail in the first line.”

Californians Shine at the Fall Paint Worlds

Californians made their presences felt at the first American Paint Horse Assn. Fall World Championship. Held Nov. 5-14 in Ft. Worth, TX, this Open and Amateur event drew nearly 1,000 horses from 42 states and four outside countries. Highlights from our area’s riders include: Susan Wilson of San Diego County’s Ramona winning the All-Around Masters (45+) Amateur division, riding Predictably Perfect, an 8-year-old sorrel overo gelding. Reserve All-Around Open Horse honors went to Hez Sirtainly Fancy, a 5-year-old chestnut overo gelding owned by Daranne Folino of Orange County’s Coto de Caza. Ryan Painter, of Riverside County’s Romoland, was High Point Exhibitor.
