Sunshine Series Grand Prix in November gets top international status, and HITS Thermal awaits the same.

The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) has given final approval for Week Two of the HITS National Sunshine Series as s CSI-5* event, featuring a $350,000 Sunshine Grand Prix CSI-5* on November 8 of this year. The show management company HITS is also awaiting approval of 5* status for one week of the HITS Desert Circuit in 2016 and a week of another of its circuits in Ocala, FL.

The 2015 National Sunshine Series in Thermal will run from Oct. 28 to Nov. 8. National Sunshine Series II, November 4-8, features a range of FEI-rated classes throughout a highly competitive week, including:

  • The $350,000 Sunshine Grand Prix CSI-5*;
  • The $50,000 Sunshine Welcome on Wednesday, November 4;
  • The $50,000 Desert Jumper Prix on Thursday, November 5;
  • And the $100,000 Coachella Valley Classic on Saturday, November 7.

The FEI’s approval of the CSI-5* National Sunshine Series II affirms the success of HITS’ ongoing commitment to providing world-class competitive opportunities to high-performance riders. This prestigious FEI rating catapults HITS onto the international stage, offering one of the highest-ranked FEI classes in North America.

Until now, the vast majority of such opportunities could be found only outside of North America, requiring riders and their mounts to travel long distances, at great expense, in order to secure coveted FEI qualifying points.

Other FEI 5* events at HITS include the Saugerties $1 Million Grand Prix CSI-5*, presented by Wells Fargo and, pending approval, 5* weeks in 2016 at HITS Desert Circuit and HITS Ocala Winter Circuit.

HITS is currently working on its Draft Schedule and expects to send invitations to riders for the 5* class in approximately one month. National Sunshine Series Prize Lists will be mailed this summer, and more information will be posted soon on HitsShows.com.
