Bringing the best clinicians in the equine industry to Central California.

The Central California Equine Expo debuts October 3 at the Chowchilla Fair Grounds with a full line-up of top clinicians. “We want to bring the best clinicians in the equine industry to Central California for all to enjoy and learn from,” says Sonya Sidhu of the Pegasus Equine Group that is presenting the Expo. “This is accomplished by team work, community involvement and for the love of horses.”

A dedicated youth area is one of the Expo’s attractions. It will feature 4H groups, Pony Club, Junior Rodeo, the Reedley College Equine Team and more along with booths offering education about colic, nutrition and other horse care topics. “The Youth area is designed to educate our future equine enthusiast about all aspects of caring for horses,” Sonja says.

The Pegasus Equine Group will also be raffling a world champion bloodline Azteca rose grey yearling colt at the Expo at 3:30 p.m. in the main arena. The raffle tickets are  $20 each. The colt is registered with IALHA, micro-chipped, DNA tested, current on Vaccines.

Clinicians Include:

Robert Gage – This show jumper has won many titles during his impressive career, having competed in the United States and Europe. Rob was named American Grand Prix  Association Rider of the year in back-to-back years, four-time West Coast Rider of the Year, and a three-time World Cup team member. In consecutive years, Rob was the winner of the prestigious “Rolex Crown of Excellence,“ which is awarded to the Grand Prix rider with the most wins in the country. Known as a speed demon in the Grand Prix ring, Rob would gallop at warp speed to the most daunting of obstacles and nail the perfect distance.

Heidi McLaughlin – Author of Fearless Rider,  Heidi teaches how to “K.I.C.K. Your Fear” when riding, helps people to understand that a “fearful” rider learns differently than a rider who does not have fear.

Merrie Velden – International Grand Prix dressage competitor. She  won the team bronze in the 1994 Olympic Sports Festival in St. Luis, Merrie has competed at many national and international dressage competitions and earned countless awards and ribbons. Her success is not just in her ribbons but those of her students. Merrie pushes for excellence through clear communication and confidence building.

Lyn Ringrose-Moe – Co-Founder of Cowboy Dressage, Lyn helps people and horse become a team through the teachings of Cowboy Dressage. She builds both horse and rider’s confidence by promoting “fun first, competition second.” This allows the stress of performance to fade away exposing the raw truth of what a partnership is.

Tracy Knepper – Trail advocate and rider, she works with retired off-the-track Thoroughbreds to acclimate them to a new life by taking them out of the arena and onto the trail, teaching the horse to be a horse again and preparing them for the rest of their lives in a new direction.
