Make Yourself Comfortable!
Equine Comfort Systems provides multiple benefits.

Updating a stable with StableComfort™ from Equine Comfort Systems has economic benefits for horse owners, health benefits for equines and environmental advantages. The revolutionary approach to stall bedding has been implemented in stables throughout the country with lauded results. Cost and labor necessary for maintenance is reduced up to 80 percent while ammonia and dust levels are diminished, making stables safer, more comfortable and easier to clean and care for.
StableComfort™ is a two-piece system that is fitted to individual stalls as an alternative to layers of shavings or hay. The first component is a multi-celled mattress filled with uniformly sized rubber crumbs made from recycled tires. This rubber filling, found today in arenas worldwide, provides the stable mattress with its high level of comfort and its shock absorbency. The mattresses are covered by a one-piece, industrial strength top covering. The geotextile and rubber cover adds to the durability of the system and is non-draining and non-absorbent so that urine traces are minimized. The cover is then fastened to the stall walls ensuring that it stays in place and that no bedding or waste gets underneath the system. This drastically changes the amount of bedding needed and time spent mucking to keep stalls clean while further reducing waste products and dust.
“I challenge you to find a product as tough and as comfortable as StableComfort™” says Dennis Spurlock, owner of Equine Comfort Systems. Located in Central California’s Merced, the Western distributor of StableComfort™ has been providing relief for both horses and horse owners for the past five years. “I have seen the system last for several years with minimal upkeep,” he says.
Spurlock explains that the StableComfort™ system originated in dairy facilities and has been upgraded to include wider top cover and mattress configurations to create optimal fit and luxury. “Studies have shown softness of the finished installation is equal to six to eight inches of deep shavings,” he says. “The only complaint I have ever gotten is that horses are covered in shavings because they lie down more often.”
While the StableComfort™ system is ideal for nearly any setting, it has added benefits for veterinary and rehabilitation clinics because it creates a more sanitary and low maintenance environment. Moreover, StableComfort™ provides unsurpassed horse comfort through a resilient stall surface that matches natural turf. Horses stabled on StableComfort™ are encouraged to lie down to rest more often and for longer periods of time. The system also provides remedial therapeutic flooring for horses while standing and a comfortable, even surface while lying down, thus decreasing the injury rehabilitation schedule and aiding stiff joints. Additionally, StableComfort™ provides insulation from the cold and a barrier to dampness from concrete floors. The equine performance industry reports less leg fatigue and a reduction in tissue fluid accumulation with StableComfort™. Clients also report an improvement in their equines’ dispositions, which they attribute to the added comfort of their environment.
The StableComfort™ system can be self-installed and adjusted to fit nearly any situation. The components come with a video to aid set-up.
