Joanne Stephens was born with a bridle in one hand and a pencil and pad in the other. Her thorough knowledge of the equestrian realm has come from a life long journey of riding and showing horses. Joanne is also a gifted cartoonist who captures the humor of both horse and rider in her cartoon caricatures.

During her childhood, Joanne would finish her riding lessons then snatch up a pencil and memorialize her experience by drawing caricatures of her recent activities on anything resembling paper. Because most serious riders are one with their horses, Joanne learned to draw both man and beast. She has continued to find the humorous side of both humans and horses. When one views Joanne’s cartoon caricatures, they find that she has her own unique style, which shows her warm and fun loving approach to life.
