Hair Needed to Mop Oil in Gulf Region

Rein-Aid wants hair to ship to the gulf ASAP. We have identified a wonderful not-for-profit organization that has set up emergency warehouses all along the gulf coast. They stuff nylon stockings with hair to create booms that mop up the oil.

Send us your horse hair if you need to clip for a show, pull a mane or trim a tail. If you groom or clip a dog, send us that. Ask you hair salon to give you their daily take of cut hair or ask them to contact us directly. Any type of hair will work, but it must not contain debris or manure that could harm the volunteers stuffing the hair into the stockings.

Ladies we need your old nylons, any color and ladders are no problem. No amount of hair is too small as we will bundle all we get and ship it together.

Edrick, originally of Agoura, California, was one of 25 horse-and-rider teams to take the field designed by International Course Designer Guilherme Jorge of Sao Paulo, Brazil, which like Friday's $25,000 HITS Grand Prix, presented by Pfizer Animal Health, saw an outstanding nine pairs return for a jump-off.

The San Diego County Horse Community Needs Your Help!

We're looking for people to help us research major use permit information for the 58 counties in California.

We need the details of what is required in each county for:

1. Public boarding stables - is a Major Use Permit required to board one horse like in San Diego County? If so, what are the costs and how much time does it take? Are road improvements required?

2. Simply boarding a few horses for friends on one's AG zoned land.

Please contact Sally Cobb if you're able to help obtain this information: salcobb@live.com

For those who would like more information and for anyone who would like to contribute their opinion regarding what the new zoning ordinance should include visit www.equinezoning.com or e-mail equinezoning@gmail.com.
