Riding's February Issue, Featuring Barn Pros on the Cover, Is In Stores Now!

February is a very busy month for us. We will be at Horse Expo Pomona and I'll be cruising around on my CrazyCat Scooter at Thermal every week making sure everyone has our newest issue.

This issue is full of stories featuring hunter/jumper riders and trainers and also has news about all types of breeds and disciplines. Be sure to let us know if you need space or have a story idea for us. We also need a rep in northern California to sell ads and help gather story ideas for us.

I also wanted to share with you my quest to find some relief from secondary lymphedema that I developed after my hysterectomy for uterine cancer. I did a six month drug trial with Stanford last year that didn't really have much relief. I really wanted to find a way to try stem cell treatment to see if that would work. I was working at the American Association of Equine Practitioner's convention and asked Vet-Stem owner Dr. Bob Harman if he could help me find a way to treat myself with stem cells. He referred me to a doctor in Los Angeles and I had the procedure done Jan. 3. The stem cells are created out of my own fat cells. The procedure only took 3 hours and I have had positive results right away. Even my lymph massage therapist wanted to know what I had done different. I hadn't told her but she could tell that I was less swollen. So right now I'm doing my own stem cell research project and have 20-30% reduction of the swelling. I don't know if it will completely reverse the lymphedema but I'm hopeful that I'll be a lot better. Wish me luck or email me if you want to know more about it.

More good news for me is I found a horse to ride and help market for my friend Dottie of Allen Stock Farm of Hemet. I've been riding only about once a week with my part time job helping my trainer friend Ronnette Leja. So I'll get to ride every day with my new project horse and hopefully have Ronnette jumping him around at the shows soon as we prepare him for his next owner.

Happy Riding and we hope to see you at Horse Expo Pomona.
