Riding's June Issue Is Out!

This month we have, as always, a wide variety of news from our top Olympic hopefuls to having fun riding Mules. The list is endless of the things we can do with our awesome equines.

Outstanding quality displayed by young horses and Young Riders provided excitement for officials and spectators alike during Dressage at Flintridge CDI*/Y/J, held in a picturesque setting under grand oak trees at the historic Flintridge Riding Club in La Cañada-Flintridge, CA, May 24 - 27, 2012. This competition once again hosted the Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Western Selection Trial, one of only three nationwide Selection Trials to select representatives to represent the U.S. at the World Championships in August. Thieriot and Flettner Victors In Woodside Preliminary Challenge

Frankie Thieriot and Julie Flettner each rode faultless show jumping rounds to win the two divisions of the $15,000 Woodside Preliminary Challenge at the Woodside Horse Trials on May 25-27. Riding Euphoria, owned by Tory Smith, Thieriot, of Occidental, Calif., won the Horse Division with a score of 27.1 penalties. The Horse's West Coast Premiere Opens June 1
The Horse, a comprehensive exhibition on the enduring bond between horses and humanity, opens at the San Diego Natural History Museum (theNAT) on June 1 and will remain on view through January 20, 2013. The Horse explores early interactions between horses and humans and shows how horses have, over time, influenced civilization including major changes in warfare, trade, transportation, agriculture, sports and many other facets of human life.
