Help Save Downing Stables in San Diego

You can help stop the prosecution of Mrs. Corales, a 70 year old woman who owns a stable, by signing this petition (click here). Not only will it force out 70 horses, but a number of these horses are rescue animals that would have been destroyed had the owner of the stable not rescued them and gave them a sanctuary. Important Rules Changes to the Druges & Medication Rules for Competition Horses Become Effective December 1, 2011

Motivated by its commitment to the welfare of the horse, the USEF Board of Directors voted to amend its Therapeutic Drug Rule and restrict use to a single NSAID beginning December 1, 2011. Both the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) supported the rule change, and USEF now joins other organizations including the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and Equine Canada in implementing this important rule change. The Open Jumper action at the Alltech National Horse Show, 128th Edition, wrapped up with a fast-paced jump-off during the Alltech National Horse Show $250,000 Grand Prix CSI-W. Richard Spooner and Cristallo set the pace with tidy inside turns and a clear effort, beating Great Britain's Nick Skelton aboard Carlo 273 by just three-tenths of a second. Although the rains returned at the Galway Downs International Three-Day Event today, they couldn't stop the juggernaut that was British rider James Alliston. He started the day by winning the CCI1* aboard Mojo, then he placed second in the CCI2* with Tivoli. And then he finished his day with a victory in the CCI3*, the last event on the PRO Tour Series, aboard India McEvoy's Jumbo's Jake, and also placed seventh with his own Parker II.
