Historic Team Gold Medal for U.S. Eventing Team at the 2011 Pan American Games

In an unprecedented effort, the U.S. Eventing Team stormed to Team Gold at the 2011 Pan American Games in classic style. All five team members added nothing to their dressage scores, to finish on 138.6 - a feat never before achieved in a Team Eventing Championship. After winning the dressage, they jumped five spectacular clear rounds on Saturday's cross-country course, for the first time in anyone's memory and then sealed the victory at Club Hippica with double-clear show jumping. Ben York, DVM, Has Passed Away

It is with sadness that we learned of the passing of a great man, Ben York. Ben, a vet, was a powerhouse for trails in California, active in Backcountry Horseman, rode solo on the Pacific Crest Trail, husband of lovely Adeline (member of Saddle SoreOrity, who tragically was killed in a horse driving accident several years ago), internationally active in their church, and a sweetheart. http://www.equisearch.com/uncategorized/pacific-pioneer/

Pro-Am Obstacle Jackpot • Saturday, November 5 in Norco

Halloween will be over but the fun goes on at First Time Events' obstacle course, at Liza Rogers' Rancho Santiago in Norco, with the Halloween Hauntville Pro-Am Obstacle Jackpot. This is a relay race competition between teams of four horse/rider pairs tackling a Halloween-themed obstacle course. Participants enter as individuals, then three names are drawn from a hat and paired with a professional to serve as team captain. The entry fee is $25.
