Congratulations to Steffen Peters and Ravel!!

The brilliant United States dressage duo, Steffen Peters of San Diego, CA, and Ravel, owned by Four Winds Farm and Akiko Yamazaki, won the bronze medal at the FEI World Dressage Championship in the Grand Prix Special. They received a score of 78.542%, the best Grand Prix Special score that they have ever received. It was quite an accomplishment for Peters; an American rider has never won an individual medal since the World Equestrian Games began in 1990. Keep reading ...

Universal Sports and NBC Sports are teaming up to provide fans with the most extensive live television coverage of equestrian sports in U.S. history. NBC Sports will air 8 ½ hours of LIVE coverage on three consecutive weekends, beginning this Saturday at 12 Noon ET. Benefits for Horse Industry in Small Business Stimulus Bill

The American Horse Council reports that President Obama signed the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act of 2010 into law on September 27, 2010. The bill is intended to help small businesses and create new jobs. The bill continues the bigger write-off for horses and other property purchased and placed in service by a horse business that were originally included in earlier stimulus bills. Keep reading ...

BLM to Gather Stranded Burros in Remote Portion of Mojave Desert

An estimated 20 wild burros in a remote area of San Bernardino County will be gathered within the next week by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The burros were the focus last month of an unusual rescue mission coordinated by the BLM when many of their herd apparently died of dehydration in a mine adit at Fenner Spring in the Piute Mountain Wilderness Area, some 40 miles from the nearest herd management area.
