The Guilherme Jorge designed course welcomed twenty-eight horse and rider combinations into Blenheim Farm's covered arena for the $50,000 Blenheim Fall CSI-W Grand Prix, presented by Cavalor, on the evening of September 17th. Seven countries were represented with riders competing for the top prize as well as points on the World Cup leader board. 83 Ponies Available

Word has it 83 ponies will be for sale Oct. 9 at Mike’s Livestock Auction in Riverside County’s Mira Loma. Information on what kind of ponies or what they were trained for was unavailable, but for sure this is a huge number of equines of any size to sell at one time. Given the end of summer timing, there’s a good chance they are ponies raised for sweeps, camps or other endeavors catering to young kids. The monthly auctions at Mike’s usually start at 6 p.m, but the Oct. 9 event may begin earlier to accommodate these above average numbers. Visit www.mikesauction.com for the latest schedule updates. We hope enough people can step up to help these little guys find decent homes.

West Coast Reining Futurity & Derby Horse Show • Oct. 1-3
The other day I was going about my life when I received a call from a friend. Excitement in my voice quickly turned to sadness when I heard the news. She has breast cancer. The statistic is that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. When I would look around at my close girlfriends I always thought that statistic was meant for another group of friends, not my friends. We were healthy, strong, and still very active chasing kids and riding horses ... but cancer doesn’t discriminate. This horrible disease hits you without warning and it changes lives forever.
