Redmond Rules Brentina Cup at 2010 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Festival of Champions

The National Young Adult 'Brentina Cup' Dressage Championships bridges an important gap between the young rider ranks and the Grand Prix level, and the nine riders that contested the final USEF National Dressage Championship of the weekend put on a promising display for the future.

Rounding out a weekend of sweeps in the 2010 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Festival of Champions, Kayce Redmond (Alpharetta, GA) and Latino held on to their lead from the first competition and delivered her second consecutive winning performance with Latino in the Dick and Jane Brown Arena at the USET Foundation Headquarters. Davis and Bentley Conquer National Young Rider Dressage Championship at the 2010 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Festival of Champions

Bentley just couldn't help but to create a little excitement, he had been on his best behavior since arriving at the USET Foundation Headquarters but there was an instant in the left half-pass of the Young Rider Individual Test that the overnight leader of the National Young Rider Dressage Championship at the 2010 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Festival of Champions had a moment of indiscretion.

Meagan Davis (Stone Ridge, NY) rode the 16-year-old Danish Warmblood confidently through the moment of mayhem into the next movement where she executed a beautiful flying change. She salvaged the test and the championship with her clear thinking. Keep reading ...

West Coast Sweep in the USEF National Junior Dressage Championship at the 2010 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions

The USEF National Junior Dressage Championship was the second Championship to be completed during the two weekends of the Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions and the top three places remained unchanged from the first leg of the championship. That meant that Jamie Pestana (Livermore, CA) and Winzalot defended their lead and swept both tests to score another convincing victory.

This pair has won across the country, including picking up Individual Gold medals at the 2010 Adequan FEI North American Junior/Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North and now scoring the 2010 national title for Juniors. Their mark of 70.263% in the Individual test was the only one over 70% in the class. Keep reading ...

Hunter Breeding Championships • Sept. 1 in San Diego

The West Coast edition of the Sallie B. Wheeler/USEF Hunter Breeding Championships will take place Sept. 1 at the Showpark All Seasons show in Del Mar. Judges Susan Ashe and Nevada-based Julie Winkel have the happy task of evaluating colts/geldings and fillies in the Yearling, Two-Year-Old and Three-Year-Old divisions. Winners of these classes return to compete in the final class that names the Best Young Horse and Reserve Best Young Horse. These top youngsters are then compared to their counterparts in the East Coast staging of this event Sept. 4 to crown the National Hunter Breeding Champion. Keep reading ...
