February was a great month for me. I've been having a great time with the consignment horse I'm working with Ronnette Leja. His name is Albert E, from Dottie Allen's Allen Stock Farm, and he is coming along great and should be going to a horse show this month. He's going to be an excellent hunter for someone.

The best news is that my husband Steve got hired after a long time of looking for work. So hopefully the economy is getting better for all of us and I'm hoping it's the end of the austerity program at our house! I have to say it hasn't been fun, but now with Steve back to work, I'm looking forward to spending some $$ and helping solve our economic woes!

We hope you enjoy this issue. I really enjoyed reading Cindy Hodges' story, page 16, about how she became the owner of an Arabian stallion that's become a superstar on the liberty circuit. Plus I liked reading about Dacia and Mario Imperato's new private training facility (page 12), CeCe Younger's return to Southern California (page 30) and Natalie Rooney's plans to organize a new Three Day Event at the Woodland Stallion Station near Sacramento (page 28). Their stories remind me why I created California Riding Magazine. I love finding out about everyone and their horses and sharing it with all of our readers.

Please contact us and let us know your story ideas. April is our spring dressage issue and May is our Barns and Spanish Breeds issue. Also watch for the 2013 California Horseman's Directory which will be at your favorite tack and feed store the end of the month.

Happy Riding!
