Winner's Circle

Lopin Pretty did exactly that at the Quarter Horse Congress show in Ohio last October. Sired by Lazy Loper and out of Zippos Pretty Kelly, she won the Coughlin NSBA Two Year Old Open Western Pleasure Futurity and the Southern Belle Breeder's Two Year Old Open Western Pleasure Futurity. Owned by Gina Lisa Gray of San Diego County's Olivenhain, Lopin Pretty has been in training with Rusty Green of Pilot Point, TX, since she was four months old. Gina plans to keep the mare there in training and also hopes to compete Lopin Pretty herself this year.

Earlier in the month, "Lola" was an American Quarter Horse Assn. World Show finalist.

The McAlister family's Hope Springs Eternal won the 2012 Arabian Horse Assn.'s Open Competition award. The purebred Arabian is only the third Arabian jumper to win this award, which is given to the Arabian who has shown outstanding performance on the open circuit. Hope Springs Eternal is trained and ridden by Kristin Hardin.
