Don Burt

Legendary California horseman and longtime horse sport advocate Don Burt passed away on Nov. 24, at the age of 82. Don trained, rode, judged and bred horses in almost every discipline and served the sport in many ways. He was president of the American Quarter Horse Assn., recipient of the United States Equestrian Federation's Lifetime Achievement Award and its Jimmy A. I've just played cowboy all my life."

He grew up Burbank as a third generation horseman. Don worked on ranches, galloped racehorses and competing on the local show scene.

Don is survived by his wife Ardys. Condolences may be sent to her and the family at 79 Narcissa Dr., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Donations in his name are welcomed by the AQHA Foundation.
