Home Needed: Pikanero

11 year old Hanovarian gelding up for adoption at FalconRidge Equine Rescue. Pikanero is the son of grand prix jumper Pikadero. He has not been ridden most of his life, but was kept as a pet by his owner, who recently passed away. He is 17 hands tall and currently in training for ground manners. Gorgeous horse. He has a small amount of ringbone on his left front and should be manageable. He is sound for basic riding, no jumping. Call 760-742-0285 for inquiry. Adoption fee $1000. www.falconridgerescue.org

Here it is – September already!! Summer has been busy busy! I had a great time working the American Horse Publications booth at the American Equestrian Trade Association show last month in Pennsylvania. It was cooler there than it was back home in San Diego county. AETA was fun and productive. Lots of amazing horse products. I was helping AHP to sign up corporate members. It is a great way for horse businesses to get their products and services in front of the AHP media members. Corporations can send out press releases twice a month to the AHP membership, just one of the benefits of membership. Please call me or email if you want the details on this awesome organization.

I also was promoting California Riding Magazine and the Horse Advertising Network. It was great to be able to talk to all of the vendors at the AETA show and will look forward to going back next August. I'm also having fun with my other jobs, announcing at some of the Greater San Diego horse shows. Del Sol Classic's August mid-week show was huge. We had 216 rounds in hunter ring one. Amazing!

Plus I'm keeping busy helping out at Harmony Farms with Ronnette Leja's horses and riders. It is super fun for me to be able to teach lessons part time and help ride the horses.

This issue we are featuring equine artists and photographers. Thank you to everyone that entered our editorial page contest and congratulations to our former intern Shannon Rolland for winning the page.
