Summer is in full swing and horse activities are happening everywhere. We had a fun time at Western States Horse Expo. It's been a fun show since its inception and we always enjoy meeting up with long time friends and making new ones. The list of products and services for horses is endless. There are so many things we can do with horses. There is no chance of being bored and you can never stop learning new things.

We apologize to Auburn-based eventer Kristi Nunnink, who finished 23rd at this year's Rolex Kentucky Four Star. We omitted her in our June issue's report on how Californians did at this super tough competition. Good luck to Kristi as she and R-Star compete at The Event at Rebecca Farms later this month, and in her longer term goals of making the 2014 WEG team for the U.S. Also in the omission's department, the great photo on our May cover should have included a photo credit for photographer David Stoecklein.

I'm having fun teaching part-time for Ronnette Leja and Harmony Farms. We have a fun group of horses and riders, plus I teach my neighbor's daughter Roan on her horse Traveler. Roan can canter around the arena in two point the entire way now. It is very rewarding to watch all of our students progress!

We wish to thank our cover sponsor Irene Valenti. Our cover sponsors make it possible for us to bring you more monthly California news than any other publication. Without our sponsors and advertisers we couldn't do what we do. But you, our readers, are equally important. Thank you for reading and be sure to tell our advertisers you saw their ad in California Riding Magazine.

Happy Riding!
