Publisher's Notes

Candycane is a darling 3 yr old paint mare up for adoption at
FalconRidge Equine Rescue in Valley Center, CA.

She was rescued last Christmas from Oregon. Candycane is 15 hands high, sound and healthy. She has not been trained to ride and will need to be adopted to someone who will get her professional training and continue her training under saddle. Super flashy and cute girl with a sweet personality. Candycane's adoption fee is $500.

Here's our rescue horse of the month. Let me know if you adopt this pretty mare. Last month's horse has someone coming to look at her as we go to press. So hopefully one by one we will re-home these horses in need.

This month I'll be super busy with the American Horse Publications conference in Williamsburg, the Western States Horse Expo in Sacramento, helping to coach the Harmony Farms riders at the Del Mar Classic Show, and announcing at the Galway Signature show. I love my busy life. Teaching has been very rewarding. I'm enjoying watching the riders improve and have fun with their horses.

Plus I got accepted into a six-month clinical drug trial at Stanford for lymphedema. I'll be swinging by Stanford on the way to and from Western States Horse Expo to get started. Also, one reader recommended I try the Wright Therapy pump which I got as we go to press. So far that is really helping my leg out. Yeah!!!

I hope everyone picked up a free copy of the California Horseman's Directory. It is also available online if you need to find anything and everything for you and your horse. If your favorite tack or feed store is out just send us an e-mail or let us know on Facebook and we will restock. If you have a horse business and would like to promote it in the book everyone is reading, just let us know.

This month we have, as always, a wide variety of news from our top Olympic hopefuls to having fun riding Mules. The list is endless of the things we can do with our awesome equines.

Be sure to send us story ideas and if you would like to sponsor a cover, be sure to let us know as we have a couple of cover spots available for 2012.

Happy Riding and I hope to see many of you at Western States Horse Expo or one of the many horse shows you'll find one of us at.
