Timmie Pollock, Ph.D., a clinical and sport psychologist in La Jolla, was recently designated
a Certified Consultant by the Association
for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), the international professional organization of sport
and exercise psychology.
In earning this certification, Dr. Pollock has met required AASP standards of education and training in the sport sciences and psychology and undergone a rigorous review process. In her private practice, Dr. Pollock has worked exclusively with equestrian athletes for more than 20 years. She is a lifelong horse owner, breeder and rider who has competed in equestrian sports – primarily dressage – for more than 35 years.
Dr. Pollock obtained her doctorate and master's degrees from the California School of Professional Psychology. Her bachelor's degree was earned at San Diego State University.
In addition to AASP, Dr. Pollock is a member of the American Psychological Association, California Dressage Society, United States Dressage Federation and the United States Equestrian Federation. She has written many articles and book chapters involving sport psychology for a variety of equestrian publications.
