Morinda Care
New name, same benefits from
the powerful noni fruit.

Morinda Care may not ring familiar bells for horse owners yet, but it will when owners learn that the main ingredient of this powerful supplement is Tahitian noni, the exotic fruit scientifically known as “morinda citrifolia.”

Noni was introduced to the equine world several years ago as Equine Essentials by Morinda Care’s related company, Tahitian Noni International. In November of last year, Morinda Care branched out on its own to offer three noni-based equine products, Equine Perform, Equine Maintain and Equine Brace, plus two similar products for dogs.

The product itself is slightly different from its predecessor. Namely, it is more concentrated. “We doubled the concentration and cut the price in half,” explains Morinda Care marketing manager Bryan Powell. “Much of the price reduction was made possible by Morinda Care’s adoption of a direct sales method.

The toughest part about marketing Morinda Care is that its benefits seem too good to be true. “If you try to tell people all of the things it does, people tend to immediately dismiss it because it seems unbelievable,” acknowledges Powell.

One of noni’s earliest and biggest advocates was barrel racing champion Charmayne James and she encountered this skepticism. After experiencing the benefits of Tahitian noni herself, she asked her nutritionist about trying it on her horses. The nutritionist said the product was surely snake oil and discouraged her from using it on her champion racers. But, she did anyway. The effects were such that the originally skeptical nutritionist, Dr. Godee, became another influential convert to the power of the noni fruit in horses.

Noni’s powerful ingredients work at the most basic level by strengthening the immune systems of humans, animals and plants. Stronger immune systems support the body’s ability to fight off the effects of environmental and physiological stress. Horses are better prepared for training, performing, transporting, dealing with digestive and respiratory challenges and more. Noni also supports more balanced behavior, better coats and helps with faster recovery from activity.

Results Say It All

Morinda Care’s parent company, Morinda Inc., has spent and continues to spend significant investments in researching why the noni fruit’s ingredients so positively affect humans, animals and plants. “At times I’ve actually been frustrated with how much research we do, versus attempts to sell the product,” shares Powell with a laugh. He acknowledges that research is the foundation of all of Morinda Care’s work, but admits that most horse owners are more interested in what noni does than how it does it. The best evidence is simply trying the product, Powell notes, thus explaining the company motto: “Chosen for results.”

Morinda Care’s popularity in the equestrian community has often grown in bursts led by an influential advocate. This was initially evident in the barrel racing community as they embraced the product fully. In the racehorse world, veterinarian and trainer Dr. Greg Fox of Kentucky stirred similar enthusiasm when he found Morinda Care’s Equine Perform to be remarkably effective with a horse that became extremely agitated when led into the start gate. “After putting the horse on our product, the horse was able to get in the gate and he went on to win races,” Powell relays. “Dr. Fox noticed that horses were calmer and traveled better. A lot of people simply say that their horses just feel better underneath them.”

Fox put several horses on Equine Perform. “Eight weeks ago I started 10 horses on Equine Perform,” he relays. “Since that time I have been impressed by the overall vitality of the group. The five yearlings have all gained between five and eight pounds per week during the breaking and early training period. As a trainer and veterinarian, to navigate these horses through this stressful period without setbacks is very encouraging. My initial experience with Equine Perform has greatly exceeded my expectations.”

Although any horse will benefit from either product, Equine Perform is designed for athletic horses and older horses. The concentrated noni improves all aspects of the horse’s condition and behavior and added glucosamine and MSM give extra attention to stressed joints. Equine Maintain is meant for horses enjoyed in less intense recreational capacities: occasional arena work and trail riding. It includes all the noni benefits without the added glucosamine and MSM. Equine Brace is a topical ointment that brings instant soothing to stressed joints anywhere on the horse’s body.

Morinda Care products are available online at www.morindacare.com and at an increasing amount of equine-related retailers. Powell encourages horse owners to ask for it if they don’t find it at their favorite feed and tack store.
