I found a fun horse to ride: Positano, a 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood hunter. I’m leasing him while he’s at Brawley Farms to be promoted as a sale horse. He’s been a great horse for me to get back in the saddle after my April surgery. I started riding the end of June and as of this writing, I’ve jumped him for a couple of weeks over a few small jumps and hope to be ready to show in the Low Adult Amateur division by September.
I’ve also been out and about photographing and video taping for Linda and Dale Hackney at their farm, San Diego Sporthorses, and also at the breed show at Creek Hollow. Linda has some beautiful young horses. You can see them on our YouTube channel, go to our website and click the YouTube logo. I’ll also have photos and video from German Dressage’s keuring that was held at the end
of July.
We have been delivering our weekly eNews for over a year now. We put in late breaking news, the latest horses for sale and more. One of the sale horses that we promoted for Dave Donnelly was sold from our eNews. Donnelly, of French Light Dressage in Northern California, received a call five minutes after the eNews went out. An appointment was made and a sale resulted. Sweet!! So be sure to sign up for our weekly eNews. You might find your next horse or some news that will make your day. Plus, we host drawings for shopping sprees for our eNews subscribers. We also want to thank our Facebook fans: we are up to 2,139 fans as of press time.
We hope you enjoy this issue featuring dressage. We had a lot of readers contribute news and articles. Please let us know how we are doing. Next month we are featuring artists and photographers and will feature a report from three Area VI team members on their efforts at the North American Young Riders Championships. October is western and gift buyers, and November is our annual eventing issue.
Let us know if you are attending the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky. This is the first time this event will be held in the United States and we have assigned our former assistant editor Erin Gilmore to provide great coverage focused on how our local riders do. We would love to hear from you about your experience at the WEG.
