Publisher's Notes

Alicia, Mimie and I pose for a photo in front of our new offices:
8622 Argent St., Ste. A, Santee, CA 92071,
about 10 minutes from our previous location.
Our lease was up and it was time to take advantage of the
office space bargains available these days.

This month is our Spanish Breeds issue, plus barns, trucks and trailers, with several good articles on those subjects. We also had several therapeutic riding programs share stories about their programs that help riders with physical and mental challenges. It was a great experience to go out and do some photos and video taping for our cover story on Shadow Hills Riding Club and meet Ray, our cover rider. Ray does an amazing job on his horse and I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading this story and checking out the video on our YouTube channel: CalifRidingMagazine. I also took video of the action at Partners Therapeutic Riding Program, and you can find info about their upcoming fundraiser in our calendar of events. Finally, don’t miss the story on Cornerstone Therapeutic’s Operation Saddle Up for our veterans, and the shocker about McLain Ward’s horse Sapphire getting eliminated from the World Cup Finals.

Next month we have our summer hunter/jumper issue, which will be on hand for the upcoming Western States Horse Expo. Be sure to go to our website to sign up for a chance at a $300 shopping spree with any of the vendors at the Expo. If you already signed up for our free weekly eNews you are already entered. We will draw for the winner Thursday before the event starts.

July is our trainers issue, and August is our summer dressage issue. Thanks to everyone who has booked their ads and articles with us so far this year. Let me know if you need videos or photos for these issues. I did some nice photos and videos for San Diego Sporthorses of Linda Hackney’s gorgeous Warmblood horses she has for sale.

Last month I also had a hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. The surgery was robot assisted and went well. All of my resuts came back negative. The doctor plans on one dose of radiation for insurance and then I should be good to go. Thanks to all my friends that sent me tons of good thoughts and prayers. I’m feeling pretty good and hope to be back in the saddle soon. You can follow me on Facebook or Twitter and stay on top of my progress. I’ll be working the back gate for Sweetwater Farms’ shows and Mark Conley’s Del Sol Classic this month. Come by and say hi to me in between rounds.
