Vicki Shea has over 15 years of experience selling homes in the horse lover’s haven of Rancho Santa Fe. Add to that she’s a horse owner and rider herself, and it’s hard to find a better bet for those looking to buy or sell properties in this wonderful North San Diego neighborhood.
The technical aspects involving Rancho Santa Fe’s horse keeping rules and regulations are an equally important strong suit of Vicki’s. Her solid knowledge of home buying aspects, from architectural style to equine keeping, make Vicki an expert at matching client’s desires, needs and expectations with the right property.
The Rancho Santa Fe Association has homeowner and horse keeping guidelines which enable it to be one of the most sought-after neighborhoods on the West Coast. Few homes are visible from the community’s winding roads and beautifully landscaped side streets, many of which are lined with bridle trails running over 27 miles throughout Rancho Santa Fe Covenant. Given the private nature of these homesites, marketing any property properly is essential and Vicki’s horseman’s eye gives her insight on how to capture the essence of an equestrian estate effectively through professional photography and
articulate description.
An agent affiliated with The Sterling Company in downtown Rancho Santa Fe, she currently is representing sellers of two beautiful equestrian estates, both of which are situated on approximately four acres. The bulk of Shea’s business comes from referrals and open houses.
While real estate is Shea’s passion currently, there is an interesting resume Shea acquired before she went into the real estate profession. A top volleyball player throughout her youth, Shea played in the Open tournaments and the Professional Women’s Beach Volleyball circuit for 14 years, allowing travel throughout the U.S. and abroad to Japan, Australia and Mexico. Her next stint was private cooking for a Hollywood celebrity, during which time her love for horses was rekindled.
Growing up in the West Los Angeles area, Shea enjoyed riding informally on other people’s horses at stables in Sullivan Canyon and Will Rogers State Park. As an adult she bought her first horse while living in Malibu and pursued the Hunter disciplines, moving to Rancho Santa Fe to further her riding education and competitive goals. Shea now stables her horse at the Rancho Santa Fe Riding Club, where she has trained in equitation-over-fences and dressage. Currently she enjoys pleasure riding with her former Equitation mount.
