Sport Horse Transport
Owner operated hauling company
considers horsemanship essential.

There are few worse feelings for an owner than watching their horse load up and be hauled away by a professional transport company and wondering if it will arrive safely at its destination.

With Robert Finch’s Sport Horse Transport, what you see is what you get: namely Robert Finch himself, owner and operator of the company. Robert is based in Las Vegas, and has been hauling horses throughout the West Coast for many years. He’s a horseman who began transporting horses and livestock “as soon as I got my driver’s license,” he says. He began to focus on the hunter/jumper and general sporthorse markets at the urging of his wife, Denise Finch, owner and head trainer of the Hunter’s Edge Farm hunter/jumper training barn in Las Vegas. In the process, he has added the nuances of handling high-end equine athletes to his horsemanship foundation.

Sport Horse Transport can handle a wide range of assignments, from hauling an individual horse to facilitating an entire racetrack move. Short hops and cross-country treks are no problem. Charters are available, along with just about any arrangement necessary to help their customers. “If there is a high priority situation, we can always figure out something.” Most typically, Robert is engaged in getting great horses to shows in fine form.

“We know that your sport horse is not only an investment, but your friend,” says Robert. “Each time your horse rides with us you will know they are in the best care possible.

“Our drivers and staff are, above all else, horsemen,” Robert continues. “We have a background in, but not limited to, training, shoeing, handling, and, of course, hauling sport horses. Our drivers are also experienced in handling any type of horse from babies to stallions, jumpers to reiners, pleasure horses to the beloved trail horse and everything in between.”

Sport Horse Transport’s trucks employ four cameras to monitor every minute of the trip. “If there is ever a problem our drivers will be able to see it immediately,” Robert explains. Air ride suspension minimizes the impact of travel on the horse’s joints and the company prides itself in providing reliable, timely and professional service.
