I was happy to find the article entitled “Royals rescue rare Arabians and plot their debut as equine therapists” in the Dec. 08 issue. I have been trying for years to breed with the frozen semen of Kay Scott Davis’ deceased stallion, *Dalipan (not Dally Pom). If I had known she was giving away his sons, I would have jumped. I just lost my own stallion of this sireline, and his only son is a gelding. If the Royals geld these Dalipan sons, this pure Polish sire will be very close to going extinct.
Dalipan was a great-grandson of *Lotnik, rescued from Germany by Patton’s army and imported as a prize of war. He was considered one of the best stallions in the world. I have researched and tried to preserve this line for many years, especially Dalipan’s great-grandsire *Lotnik. I am trying to re-trace that horse’s ownership in California, after the U.S. Army auctioned off all their horses, including the prizes of war. Unfortunately, *Lotnik, like *Dalipan, kind of fell into obscurity for many years into old age before he was “re-discovered.”
I have one pure Polish mare who is a great granddaughter of Lotnik. I would like to adopt/purchase/breed her to a pure Polish Dalipan son. Please encourage your readers to contact me if they would like to share information. My e-mail is andra_tn@hotmail.com.
Sincerely,
