There's No Place Like Home
Realtor Nora Davis could think of no place
better than Ojai Valley to call home.

After 19 years as a realtor in Ojai Valley, Nora Davis still delights in helping buyers find their perfect home. “There is something really special about being able to walk a buyer through the process, especially when it’s their first home,” explains Nora. “I’ve been very lucky that I’ve been able to build wonderful relationships with my clients. Often I help them find their first house, then in a few years they come back to me for assistance selling that house and finding a second home. I even have a few that I have helped find their third and fourth homes.”

Nora’s family is in the real estate business and specializes in rental properties, so Nora already had a firm understanding of the market before she earned her real estate licenses. She originally got into real estate so she could spend more time with her children and work from home. While she handles all types of property, with a horse crazy daughter and a brother who is a seven time National Reined Cow Horse Association winner, Ted Robinson, it was natural for Nora to focus on horse, ranch and farm properties.

“There is something amazing about viewing a ranch from the back of a horse. I love showing property that way and I feel so fortunate that I can do it. Without my job, that wouldn’t be part of my life. And that would be such a shame,” says Nora.

Nora has known her husband Randy since she was 5 years old and they have been married for 36 years. Their kids are now all grown up. Aimee now lives in Seattle, and their son, Cody, works with his father at R-Davis Construction and has two daughters of his own, Nora and Randy still remain active in the Ojai community.

They just started a new group of Black Angus heifers at their ranch for the local 4-Hers to show in the Ventura County Fair and sponsor several youth baseball teams in the Valley. Nora also runs the office for the Ventura County Saddle Club, and is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Ojai Valley Women’s Investment Group. She is also a past president of the Ojai Valley Board of Realtors and was the chair for their marketing committee.

Though Nora works mainly in Ojai Valley, she will venture into Santa Barbara or Ventura County to look for ranch properties. But Nora has no problems referring a client to another agent if she is not familiar with an area. “I want to do what is right for each client and I pride myself on being honest. Every client is different and has different needs. I try to cater to those individual needs.”

Assisting Nora is her associate, Melissa Baugher, who is part of the Davis Team. Nora and Melissa work together, each handling their respected specialties. “Having an established network of resources and a strong team backing you is vital to success,” says Nora. “I have been with Coldwell Banker since I started and we have a great team. Our office is the largest in the Valley and we have a lot of resources to draw from. But I stay because I admire their ethics and how they work together with each other. Those are the sort of things that are important to me.”
