A graduate from Texas A&M University and a fourth generation realtor, Colby Updegraff can’t imagine a state more beautiful or diverse than Oregon. Well known for its tall, dense forests, Oregon has more diverse landscapes than any other state in the United States. The Beaver State’s snowy mountain peaks look down onto rolling hills, and the 400 miles of public Oregon coastline are easily accessible by US 101, making it a popular tourist attraction. Central Oregon sees 300 days of sunshine per year, and Ashland in southern Oregon features the Tony-Award winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival. From the scenic waterfalls to the high desert region, southern Oregon is a land of dramatic contrasts which is marked by spectacular mountains, lakes and rivers, valleys and arid deserts. The southern Oregon region extends from the California border, north to the shores of the Umpqua River. White water rafting, fly fishing, wineries and an abundance of natural attractions are complemented by many cultural activities providing residents and visitors with a variety of things to see and experience.
Oregon is home to natural wonders such as Hells Canyon, the deepest river gorge in North America, and Crater Lake, the deepest lake in the United States. It is world renowned for its beautiful blue waters, and was formed over 6,500 years ago. “Southern Oregon is a great place to call home,” exclaims Colby. “Living in the great valley, which has so much to offer, has made my career choice very rewarding.” After college Colby returned to the Rogue Valley to enjoy rural property living and to began her real estate career with Oregon Opportunities in 1990. After all, her children and horses are what she enjoys the most. Colby’s primary focus is ranch, residential and investment property. However, with a vast resource of experience in her office, she says it is easy to assist people in all aspects of real estate.
In addition to real estate sales, Colby does the marketing research for Oregon Opportunities. Her strong background in marketing combined with experience in the real estate industry has been a proven combination. Handling the marketing research helps keep her very in tune to the pulse of Oregon’s real estate market. Recently Colby also earned the professional designation, GRI (Graduate, Realtor Institute), by the Oregon Association of Realtors. “The teamwork approach at Oregon Opportunities is fantastic,” says Colby. “It brings all of our experience and skills together.
